Coming into the tournament it was obvious Team Canada was going to be in tough to make it this far, to the Gold medal game.
But they have lived up to and surpassed expectations that the fans, media and even I had for them.
Tonight is the final test as they take on Team Russia in Buffalo, New York for Gold.
Canada handled the US to get to this point with Team Russia knocking off Team Sweden in a shootout. Canada is looking for it's 6th Gold in 7 years; Russia hasn't won the tournament since 2002.
These two teams have already met once in this tournament, with Team Canada knocking off a pesky Russian squad 6-3 in the tourney opener on Boxing Day.
The one big area this game will be won or lost is in goal. Canada's Mark Visentin goes head to head with Dmirti Shikin of Russia.
The two are underdog stories as both were expected to be backups going into the tournament. Oliver Roy for Canada and Igor Bobkov for Russia both had their sights on being the top guys for their country.
But Visentin and Shikin have stolen those jobs, and will look to steal Gold for their team tonight.
The game goes at 6:00 SK time on TSN.
