Blades don't get the bounces, fall to Broncos

It was a tough game to handicap, as Saskatoon carried the vast majority of the play, but just couldn't get the puck into the net.

I can't count how many pucks bounced sticks or how many open nets were missed by the Blades.

The final was 3-2 for Swift Current.

The Blades got goals from Darian Dziurzysnki and Stefan Elliott. For Z, he regained the team lead with his 22nd of the season. Elliott's goal was his 20th of the year.

The Broncos had markers from Adam Lowry, Taylor Vause and Dillon Wagner.

Once again for the Blades goaltending was an issue. Starter Adam Morrison was lifted after 2 periods after allowing a couple of questionable goals. His replacement Steven Stanford was perfect the rest of the way.

Mark Friesen made 29 saves for the win.

It was a strong crowd at CUC as it was minor hockey night. The attendance was 8487.

The Blades now have a week off until their next game. That goes Saturday night at home against Calgary.

That game is expected to be the debut of newly acquired forward Brayden Schenn.
