Blades dump Hitmen, now head to Edmonton

Last night the Saskatoon Blades walked into Calgary and completed a few-days-delayed home and home sweep.

After winning in Saskatoon 5-1 on Satuday, the Blades won 8-4 last night. That score doesn't really tell the tale of how well Saskatoon played with Calgary adding a couple late.

The Blades got goals from Stefan Elliott, Curtis Hamilton, Josh Nicholls, Brent Benson, 2 from Jake Trask and Brayden Schenn, his first as a Saskatoon Blade.

That goal from Schenn came on a deflection at 15:51 of the third period.

The top line of Hamilton-Schenn-Trask combined for 10 points. They were also a +9.

The Hitmen got goals from Kris Foucault, Nathan McMaster and 2 from Cody Sylvester.

Steven Stanford made 26 saves for the win, but he will be disappointed with how the game ended. Saskatoon gave up goals at 18:26 and 19:48 of the third period.

Putting the win aside, Saskatoon now heads to Edmonton for tonight's matchup with the Oil Kings. The game goes at 8:00 SK, with the pregame starting at 7:30 on 92.9 The Bull.
