It was the Swift Current Broncos who hit the board first last night against the Blades.
Brad Hoban got his 16th goal of the season for Swift Current at 5:39 of the first.
But, the Blades were quick to bounce back.
Not even 2 minutes later Brayden Schenn scored his 4th goal of the season to tie the game at one. It was Schenn's 4th goal of the year, 3rd as a Blade, all 3 of which have come on the road.
Saskatoon would take the lead at 10:09 of the first on the powerplay as Jake Trask fired a low shot home past Mark Friesen.
Matty Stransky would extend the Blades lead to 3-1 in the second period as he scored his 10th goal of the season.
That would be the final. 3-1 for Saskatoon.
It was the last meeting of the season between the two teams, with the Blades winning 6 of the 8 matchups.
Steven Stanford started and won for the Blades, making 35 saves. Mark Friesen had 30 saves in the loss.
Saskatoon's penalty kill continues to be great, going 7 for 7. They have surrendered one goal in the last 26 shorthanded chances.
Next up for Saskatoon a huge matchup with the Red Deer Rebels. They come to town on Tuesday night for a rematch of the New Year's Day game that wasn't short of fireworks.
That game goes at 7:05, starting with the pregame show on 92.9 The Bull at 6:30.
