Rebels Ryan Nugent-Hopkins WHL's POTW

The league's shared-third leading scorer is this week's player of the week.

Nugent-Hopkins had 12 points in 4 games this week for Red Deer. In those 12 points were 5 goals and 7 assists. He was also named the first star of a game once, and the second star of a game thrice.

He has 102 points on the year, including 28 goals and 74 assists.

The 17 year old was the league's first pick in the 2008 Bantam Draft and will be the first WHL player chosen in the coming 2011 NHL Entry Draft.

Also announced today, goalie Adam Brown of the Kelowna Rockets is the WHL's nominee for CHL goalie of the week. He went undefeated last week at 3-0 along with a shutout, a 0.65 GAA and a .979 save percentage.
