Warriors Forward Lyon Will Miss Start Of Playoffs

The Moose Jaw Warriors will be without forward Brett Lyon as they start their first round series against the Kootenay Ice.

Lyon has been handed a 4 game suspension for his high hit on Saskatoon Blades forward Jake Trask.

Trask sat out the rest of the Blades season following the hit on March 16th. Lyon was also suspended idefinitely and missed the last 2 games of the regular season for the Warriors.

The league announced that the suspension is now set at 4 games, forcing Lyon out for 2 more.

Moose Jaw opens the playoffs on the road as they meet up with the Kootenay Ice starting on Friday night.

Meanwhile, Trask is expected to return to the lineup for Saturday's series opener against the Prince Albert Raiders.

He had a career high 30 goals for the Blades this year.
