WHL Western Award Nominees and Bantam Draft Results

The WHL's Western Conference All Stars and Award Nominees have been announced today, along with the Bantam Draft lottery results.

The All Stars are as follows:

FIRST ALL-STAR TEAM

Defenceman – Tyson Barrie (Victoria, BC), Kelowna Rockets
Defenceman – Jared Cowen (Allan, SK), Spokane Chiefs
Forward – Brendan Gallagher (Delta, BC), Vancouver Giants
Forward – Tyler Johnson (Spokane, WA), Spokane Chiefs
Forward – Ryan Johansen (Port Moody, BC), Portland Winterhawks

SECOND ALL-STAR TEAM

Goaltender – Calvin Pickard (Winnipeg, MB), Seattle Thunderbirds
Defenceman – Brenden Kichton (Spruce Grove, AB), Spokane Chiefs
Defenceman – Ryan Murray (White City, SK), Everett Silvertips

The player of the year nominees get announced on the 21st of April. All the award winners will be announced at a banquet in Calgary on May 4th.

The Eastern Conference All Stars and award nominees will be announced tomorrow.


Also this morning, the results from the bantam draft lottery were unveiled live on WHL.ca.

The Kamloops Blazers won the draw, and moved up 2 spots because of that. The order will be:

The order of the second round and other rounds will be the inverse order of final WHL regular-season standings.
