A pair of members of the Saskatoon Blades fraternity were unveiled by their new NHL teams today.
In Denver, Colorado defenseman Duncan Siemens took part in an autograph signing with fellow first round pick by the Avalanche Gabriel Landeskog. Landeskog was the 2nd overall selection by Colorado, while Siemens was taken 11th overall.
Siemens will now fly back to Sherwood Park, Alberta for a few days before returning to Denver for rookie camp on July 11th.
Meanwhile, Brayden Schenn was unveiled to the media in Philadelphia after he was acquired from the LA Kings last week. Schenn and Wayne Simmonds were the package as the Flyers traded captain Mike Richards to the Kings.
I expect Schenn to stick on in a third line role in Philly next year. His game truly fits the city and the team's style of play.
