The Moose Jaw Warriors will introduce Mike Stothers as their new head coach at a press conference tomorrow. He will be replacing bench boss Dave Hunchak.
Stothers was most recently an assistant coach with the Atlanta Thrashers of the NHL. He has also spent time coaching in the Philadelphia Flyers organization, with the Hershey Bears, the Grand Rapids Griffins and with the Owen Sound Attack.
He had a 30 game NHL playing career spent with the Flyers and the Toronto Maple Leafs.
It also appears that the Regina Pats are close to naming Ryan McGill as their head coach. He is atleast on the very short list, although it's believed that he is also a front runner for the job as the head coach of the Texas Stars of the American Hockey League.
He spent the last two years as an assistant with the Calgary Flames. He also coached the Kootenay Ice in the late 90's and early 2000's. He had a 151 game NHL playing career as a defenseman, mostly with the Flyers.
