Officially On The Radar: Daulton Siwak

Daulton Siwak is a player that has flown under the radar slightly for the Red Deer Rebels over the last couple calendar years.

That was mostly due to the fact that he was buried on a terribly good offensive hockey club and the fact that he was a very young player.

As a late 1993, Siwak is already entering his third full WHL season and that experience is going to pay off bigtime in his draft year.

Siwak is an explosive skater and a solid, hard working two way player. He shows a good hard release, good hands and good overall hockey instincts. He doesn't rely too much on that hard and quick shot as he isn't afraid to get dirty to score and go to the tougher areas around the net. He's also been known to drop the mitts from time to time.

A quick Youtube search will bring up an epic fight he had with Duncan Siemens a couple of years ago. Great tilt.

I've had the chance to watch him via video only once this season, but will be seeing him live later this week. From what I have seen, he's got the tools to provide the Rebels with solid scoring in their top 9 and he will surely improve on his 13 goals and 27 points from last season.

The way he skates and moves, he seems to remind me somewhat of Phil Kessel of the Leafs. At 6'0 and 193 pounds, he's also got a fairly solid frame to build off of.

Daulton Siwak is definitely On The Radar.
